I’ve always been a 半桶水 in both English and Mandarin. Haha.
Just now, I called a law firm in Taiwan to ask for a certified true copy invoice to be sent to me so I can proceed with the payment. I told her I need a hard copy of invoice as my accounting dept cannot make payment with the PDF one, but my tongue was tied. LOL.
I squeezed my brain and drained every drop of the juice in it trying to communicate with the friendly PIC in mandarin. In the end, I managed to convey my message over with a mixture of English and Mandarin conversation. Luckily she understands what is Hard Copy, Soft copy, Invoice and Courier. Phew! Btw, what are these words in mandarin huh?
My division now is a little quiet as a few of them went on a business trip. Small boss came back with a large packet of Korean Seaweed and flew off to Bangkok yesterday. Big boss came back with a box of butter cookies from Tokyo for each of us and flew off to Korea. Second boss sighed because he needs to fly to New Delhi next week. Haha! He just didn’t like the place, the people and the food in India. Poor him.
One of the Japanese bosses from Tokyo flew in for a meeting and gave me a box of snack. I thought to myself; Huh? Butter cookies again??? I tear the wrapper and gave a F6 expression. Banana butter cookie. 0_o
I tried one and couldn’t help reaching for another one right after I munched the first. Wow! It’s super yummy! At first bite, its butter taste but after awhile, the aroma of banana filled my mouth. Wooot. *Reaching out for the last pack of it.*
