From Yahoo News:
TOKYO - A 43-year-old player in a virtual game world became so angry about her sudden divorce from her online husband that she logged on with his password and killed his digital persona, police said.
The woman, who has been jailed on suspicion of illegally accessing a computer and manipulating electronic data, used his ID and password to log onto the popular interactive game "Maple Story" to carry out the virtual murder in May, a police official in the northern city of Sapporo said Thursday. He spoke on condition of anonymity because of department policy.
"I was suddenly divorced, without a word of warning. That made me so angry," the official quoted her as telling investigators and admitting the allegations.
The woman, a piano teacher, had not plotted any revenge in the real world, the official said.
She has not yet been formally charged. If convicted, she could face up to five years in prison or a fine up to US$5,000.
Players in "Maple Story" create and manipulate digital images called "avatars" that represent themselves, while engaging in relationships, social activities and fighting monsters and other obstacles.
In virtual worlds, players often abandon their inhibitions, engaging in activity online that they would never do in the real world. For instance, sex with strangers is a common activity.
The woman used login information she got from the 33-year-old office worker when their characters were happily married to kill the character. The man complained to police when he discovered that his online avatar was dead.
The woman was arrested Wednesday and taken 620 miles (1,000 kilometers) from her home in southern Miyazaki to be detained in Sapporo, where the man lives, the official said.
The police official said he did not know if she was married in the real world.
Bad online behavior is usually handled within the rules set up by online worlds, which can ban miscreants or take away their virtual possessions.
In recent years, misbehavior in the virtual world has in some cases had consequences in reality.
In August, a woman was charged in the U.S. state of Delaware with plotting the real-life abduction of a boyfriend she met through the virtual reality Web site "Second Life."
In Tokyo, a 16-year-old boy was charged with stealing the ID and password from a fellow player of an online game in order to swindle virtual currency worth US$360,000.

Every morning, I go through a few rounds of training on my patience’s limit.
Now, I need to vent a bit of frustration~
KNN, can wait for the door to open before shouting “excuse me excuse me” for at least 3 times in my ear??? The door is still closed, train is still moving, and people are practically squeezing one another for their personal space. When “excuse me” is shouted, mumbled, said, and yelled or in whatever tone it is spoken, don expect the door to open automatically, people to disappear immediately and a red carpet to be placed all the way to the gantry for your exit! Bloody Hell.
Use a bit of brain and common sense to think eh sai buey? Nbz.
You will have enough time to alight as soon as the train comes to a halt. ONE “excuse me” and a smile will do the trick! People will automatically siam sideway for you. Please correct me if I am wrong… Duh duh duh! Hate it when starts their “excuse me” sutra before the door is even opened. The same thing happens in the lift too~
Argh! I am very patience already hor…
I just gave an irritated face and said:” can you wait? I will excuse for you to go out, but now I have no space to do so until the door is opened.”
I think I level up. Haha!

Yesterday night, i logged in to Maple for the first time in the past 18mths (around there i guess).
Some time in Feb of 2006:
Attachment in Steven's company.. Then, Steven and Hilda kept nagging and asking why i was so addicted to maple... They do not understand why logging into maple forum and hidden-street daily is a MUST for me... *because i cannot log into the game mah... so went to research on quest and such lo.. haha*
forgot which mth,but i guess its either March or April in the same yr..
Dino and Hilda finally joined Maple, Bootes server!
i created the character FireDinosaur for Steven... hahaha...
and Hilda created DarkHairMe herself....
Initially, the both of them couldnt get use to the game...
everyday nag and nag... ask this and that (about maple)
i told dino: Although maple is just an online game, but to me, it is a game which involved real life emotions, laughter, sadness and even angryness.
It is because of the people i know in Bootes that made me stayed on.. not the game itself....
Few months down the road, they got the hang of it...
Another few mths down... Hilda created her own guild, Dino became one of the regular in Zakum. LOL.
Slowly, i quitted Maple as i started work and realised i cannot maple 12hrs daily anymore.
I gotto move on in my life.
I miss so many people in there.. i met so many lovely friends in bootes...
and of course, i created trouble for a few players as well.. haha...
Fylx and Tanyia, my sisters....
Lemonbubu2, my lovely mama..

Jail for hit-and-run housewife
By Sujin Thomas
HOUSEWIFE Lim Ah Mui was driving towards the airport one day in 2006 when a man suddenly appeared on the road in front of her car.
The man, tossed from his motorcycle in another accident seconds earlier, was getting to his feet when Lim ran over him with her Mercedes-Benz. But instead of stopping, the 58-year-old drove away from the fatally injured motorcyclist, picked up her husband at the terminal, and went home.
Yesterday, Lim wept silently in the dock as a judge sentenced her to five months' jail and banned her from driving for three years. District Judge Jill Tan said that Lim deserved a jail sentence because she did not stop to help the motorcyclist, Mr Ghazali Mohamed Noor, 47.
The package officer with the Singapore Airport Terminal Services (Sats) was on his way to Changi Airport on Christmas Day morning in 2006 when he hit a car making an illegal U-turn.
Mr Ghazali was flung off, landing one lane away. While he was trying to get up, Lim ran over him. She did not brake and went on to pick up her husband from Terminal 1, before heading home.
Mr Ghazali suffered multiple injuries and died on the spot. Lim reported to the Traffic Police only eight days late, after being issued a letter ordering her to come in.
Pleading for leniency, defence lawyer Luke Lee urged the court not to jail Lim, saying it was not clear which car inflicted the fatal blow.
The driver who touched off the accident with an illegal U-turn, 64-year-old contractor Tew Hock Sew, also left the scene, only to return five minutes later after dropping off a passenger at the airport.
In May this year, he was sentenced to five months' jail and banned from driving for three years for failing to help.
Upon appealing two months later, his sentence was reduced to three months in jail.
Mr Lee said Lim, who is out on a bail of $20,000, plans to appeal against the sentence.

这两个人真没良心!
Shouldn't they accept the 'punishment' willingly for causing an innocent man to lose his life?
Why should they still appeal for a much lighter punishment when it is only a few mths imprisonment compared to a few years? hello, it is a life lost!
Imagine how devastated the family of the victim is.
I cant believe that they can still continue their errands after hitting someone.
Arent they even guilt stricken? Is this how UNHELPFUL Singaporeans are?
Singaporeans only know how to Kpo, complain and grumble. What else?

Back in the office.. clearing hundreds of emails, went for seminar, meeting, clearing the invoices...

I cant understand why people often mis-spell the name when greeting someone in the email.
Isnt the name spelled clearly in the address??? The same goes to my fellow colleague...
